My name is Jerry Baum and I go by the GeoCaching handle of AcousticNut. Originally from Foxburg, PA, I relocated to New Castle after getting married 13 years ago. I will sometimes cache with the family (Lil'Nut, SquierrellyNut and MamaNut), but also enjoy long walks in woods, quiet evenings by the fire, and.... oh where was I......

Living in New Castle and working in Sharon for JMC Steel (parent company of Wheatland Tube), I have a lot of the Shenango and Mahoning Valleys covered in my travels.

I chose the moniker AcousticNut as I was a musician in my past life and performed as a singer / acoustic guitar player. My parents had purchased a walnut with "Music Nut" written on it for me as a kid, so played on words a little bit to come up with the name.

While not posting big numbers (about 430 finds), I enjoy going for the 'big ones', memorable caches and also like to hide the same. Looking forward to meeting up with other cachers in the area and making some runs.
